Early Weekend Play

Starting in British Columbia, Michael Garman was named the game's 1st-Star as he stopped 25 shots in Nanaimo's 3-1 win over Victoria on Friday. The Clips will return the game and visit the Grizzlies on Saturday.

Chris Moulson picked up an assist and helped Alberni Valley knock off Penticton, 6-2. The Bulldogs will host Powell River on Saturday.

In Alberta, Jordan Kary had an assist in Spruce Grove's 4-3 win over Bonneyville, in a game that was played on Thursday. The Saints will travel to Drayton Valley on Sunday.

In Manitoba, also on Thursday, Waywayseecappo dropped a 5-3 decision to the OCN Blizzard. Sean Collins was held scoreless in the game. Wayway hosts the return game on Sunday.

In USHL play, Omaha cruised to a 7-2 win over Tri-City. Keir Ross went scoreless for the Lancers in their win. Omaha will be on the road at Sioux Falls on Saturday.

Also in the USHL, Indiana and Cedar Rapids each dropped a game. The Ice fell to Lincoln, 2-1, while the RoughRiders went down 5-1 to Sioux Falls. Locke Jillson went scoreless for Indiana, who travel to Tri-City on Saturday. Vince Mihalek did not play for Cedar Rapids, who will host Lincoln on Saturday.

The Binghamton Jr. Sens dropped their first game at the Atlantic JHL's Express Showcase, 5-1, to Hartford. Kevin Cole missed his second straight game for Binghamton. The Sens take on the New York Bobcats on Saturday.

Stouffville opened their playoff series with a 5-0 win over Couchiching on Thursday. Jarred Seymour went scoreless for the Spirit. Game two of the best-of-five set is on Saturday at Couchiching.
