Clippers Grounded

Nanaimo went into the holiday break as the hottest team in the BCHL. After a difficult road trip against the top three teams in the Interior Conference, the Clippers now have a 3-game losing streak. The Clippers opened the trip on Friday against Trail and found themselves in a quick 3-0 hole from which they couldn't quite recover. The next night the hole was even deeper as Penticton opened up a 5-0 lead early in the second period, chasing newly-committed Michael Garman barely three minutes into the second stanza after scoring three goals in 30 seconds. The weekend ended with Nanaimo unable to hold a 2-1 lead against Vernon, falling 3-2 to the Vipers.

For the trip both Joe and Mike Devin went scoreless in the three games. Michael Garman gave up 5 goals on 11 shots in his only action on the road trip.

Nanaimo has a short break before resuming play on Wednesday against Surrey.
