Spruce Grove has been one of the Alberta Junior Hockey League's stingiest teams this year. With the regular season winding down, however, the Saints found themselves nearly defenseless on the road this weekend. On Friday, the Okotoks Oilers treated the Saints ratherly crudely beating them 8-4, and chased Ben Scrivens from the game after scoring 7 goals on 21 shots. Both Ben and his mates bounced back on Saturday beating the Olds Grizzlys 5-3, though the Saints gave up 37 shots to the Grizzlys. Ben played the entire 60 minutes to pick up the win, which also helped the Saints move within 4 points of first-place Fort McMurray.
Monday finds Spruce Grove hosting Fort McMurray as they try to draw within 2 points of the Oil Barons. Spruce Grove has three games remaining in the regular season, while Fort McMurray has two.
