Colts Bucks Raiders In Opener

Cornwall picked up a win in game one of its series against Nepean, 3-2, on Thursday. Kevin Cole scored two goals and was named the game's 1st-Star.

Game two is at Nepean on Friday.

Storm Falls In OT

Grande Prairie trails Fort McMurray 2 games to 1 after dropping a 4-3 decision in double overtime on Thursday. Rodger Craig was scoreless.

Game four is Friday at Fort McMurray.

Playoff Updates

Catching up on some of the playoff action from this past week:

In the BCHL, Victoria saw its season end when it fell to Nanaimo 4 games to 2 in the opening round.

In Alberta, Grande Prairie is even at a game a piece in its second round series with Fort McMurray.

In prep action, Choate defeated Berkshire 8-4 to win the Martin/Earl large school title.

In EJHL play, Boston advanced to the semifinals as it dispatched Bay State. The Junior Bruins will face New Hampshire on Saturday. Syracuse was knocked out by Jersey.

de Swardt Picks Up Honor

Armand de Swardt was named the Sherwood/NAHL West Player of the Week for the week ending March 8. Armand scored two goals and added three assists in Wenatchee's two game split with Wichita Falls.

Armand has picked up points in six straight games, and in ten of his last eleven, as the Wild has clinched the West Division title.

Wenatchee concludes its regular season with a six game road trip to Alaska, beginning in Kenai River on Friday, March 19.

Choate Advances

Choate defeated Andover, 4-0, in the Martin/Earl quarterfinals on Wednesday. Philippe Hudon did not play.

The Wild Boars move on to the semis this Saturday.

Note: Philippe's season has ended as he has been suspended for a week.

Iles Picks Up Honor

Andy Iles was selected as the USHL's Goalie of the Week for this past week.

Andy stopped 39 of the 41 shots he faced in two wins against Des Moines and Sioux City.

The U18s next USHL action will come on March 12th and 13th when the Nationals visit Cedar Rapids and Waterloo.

Grizzlies Evens Up Series

Victoria tied up its series with Nanaimo at 2 with a 3-2 overtime win on Tuesday. Dustin Mowrey chipped in with a goal and picked up six penalty minutes.

Game five will be in Victoria on Thursday.

Victoria Nicks Clippers

Victoria crept a bit closer in its series with Nanaimo, with a 4-3 win on Monday. Dustin Mowrey picked up an assist for the Grizzlies.

Nanaimo leads the series 2-1 with game four on Tuesday at Nanaimo.

Storm Moves On

Grande Prairie won its opening round series against Lloydminster 3-1 with a 4-1 win on Monday. Rodger Craig was scoreless for the Storm.

Grande Prairie begins the next round against Fort McMurray on Monday in a best-of-seven series.

Sunday USHL Action

Andy Iles pitched a shutout as the USA U18s knocked off Sioux City, 6-0, on Sunday. Andy stopped 21 shots and picked up the game's 1st-Star for his efforts.

The U18s will host Sioux City on Friday.

Also on Sunday, Indiana defeated the U17s, 6-2. Brian Ferlin and Cole Bardreau were scoreless.

Indiana will visit Cedar Rapids on Friday. The U17s will host Sioux City on Saturday.

Ryan Also Receives Honor

Joakim Ryan has been named to the NJ Gordon Conference All-Star team. Joakim's CBA team recently won the Gordon Conference Championship and will begin its quest for a state title against the winner of the DePaul vs Paul VI winner.

Hudon Gets NEPSIHA Nod

According to U.S. Hockey Report, Philippe Hudon has been selected by the NEPSIHA coaches to the West All-Star team.

Additionally, the NE Prep Playoffs begin this week. Choate received the #2 seed in the Martin/Earl Tournament for large schools and will face #7 Andover in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Bobcats Battles Back

Lloydminster kept its series with Grande Prairie alive when it picked up a 4-3 win in overtime on Sunday. Rodger Craig was scoreless for the Storm.

Game four is Monday in Lloydminster.
