USHL Update

The USHL got back in action on New Year's eve with a busy slate of games. Indiana got the best of Chicago, 5-3, as Brian Ferlin picked up two assists for the Ice.

Team USA scored three goals within four minutes during the first period but fell to Fargo, 4-3. Andy Iles took the loss for the Yanks while stopping 31 shots.

Omaha also picked up a win with a 5-3 decision over Sioux City. Mathieu Brisson had a helper for the Lancers.

On Friday, Team USA bounced back with a 4-2 victory over Sioux Falls. Andy Iles came on in relief and picked up the win as he stopped all 19 shots in the third period.

The U18s will visit Michigan State for an exhibition game on Monday.

On Saturday, Omaha got out to a 4-1 first period lead but couldn't hold off Fargo, as it fell 6-5. Mathieu Brisson was scoreless.

Also on Saturday, Indiana skated to a 4-3 overtime win against Waterloo. Brian Ferlin was scoreless.

The Ice will host Sioux City on Friday.

On Sunday, Omaha blanked Cedar Rapids, 1-0. Mathieu Brisson was scoreless for the Lancers.

Omaha will visit Lincoln on Friday.
