A Very Big Pick Up

According to Chris Heisenberg, Armand De Swardt (6' 5", 210), a 1990-born forward, has committed to the Big Red for 2009. Armand, who grew up in Texas, spent last season playing with the Dallas Stars AAA team and appeared to be headed for a spot with Indiana (USHL) this summer before being injured.

Last season, Armand scored 21 goals, added 24 assists, and picked up 84 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Stars.

McKeen's is very high on Armand and speaks of an impressive finishing ability due to having a "bone-rattling" wristshot. They also report he has good hands and mobility, especially for someone his size. He is also, not surprisingly, a very physical player.

Welcome to Cornell, Armand.

Note: The Dallas Stars AAA report the commitment is for 2010.
