Catching Up

Cushing, which is battling for a playoff spot in NE Division One prep play, split their last two games. The Penguins dropped a 2-0 deision to Kimball Union on Saturday, then bounced back with an 8-3 win over Proctor on Wednesday. Sean Whitney scored a goal and added a helper in the Pens' win.

Cushing will be at home against Holderness on Friday.

Kevin Cole was back in action on Saturday in Binghamton's 3-2 loss to New York. Kevin went scoreless against the Bobcats. On Sunday, the Junior Senators suffered a 5-3 loss to Washington in a physical game. The two teams combines for 16 game misconducts, one of which was picked up by Kevin.

On Wednesday, the Sens were back in action, without Kevin, and skated to a 4-3 win over the Northern Cyclones.

Binghamton will play the Northern Cyclones again on Thursday at home.

In the USHL, there was a full slate of action on Saturday. Cedar Rapids defeated Lincoln, 4-1, with Vince Mihalek a scratch. Indiana beat Tri-City, 6-4, with Locke Jillson going scoreless for the Ice. Omaha was also a winner, defeating Sioux Falls, 7-0. Keir Ross was held scoreless for the Lancers.

On Tuesday, the three teams started the week off early. Cedar Rapids defeated Green Bay, 3-0, as Vince was a scratch against the Gamblers. Omaha won, again, beating Lincoln, 3-2, though Keir went scoreless in the Lancers' win. Indiana dropped their game against Ohio, 3-2, with Locke being held scoreless on the night.

In Manitoba play, Waywayseeappo defeated OCN, 8-3, on Sunday. Sean Collins scored two goals and added an assist for the Wolverines. On Tuesday, the Wolves dropped a 2-1 decision to Portage. Sean picked up a helper on Wayway's only goal.

Wayway will host OCN on Thursday.

In Alberta, Spruce Grove swept a Sunday-Monday set with Drayton Valley. The Saints won the first game 6-2, and followed up with an 8-2 win over the Thunder. Jordan Kary scored two goals and picked up an assist in the game on Sunday, then added two assists in Monday's victory.

Spruce Grove will visit Bonneyville on Friday.

Out west, Chris Moulson scored a goal to help Alberni Valley defeat Powell River, 6-4, on Saturday.

The Bulldogs will travel to take on Cowichan Valley on Friday.

Also on Saturday, Nanaimo fell to Victoria, 5-2. Michael Garman left the game after he was involved in a collision. Michael, who had replaced Evan Smith, had given up two goals at the time of his departure.

The Clippers will visit Prince George on Friday.
