Friday Leftovers

Erik Axell scored the game-winning goal as St. Mike's breezed to a 9-1 win over Toronto on Friday. Nick D'Agostino picked up an assist for the Buzzers in the romp.

St. Michael's plays at Dixie on Saturday.

Binghamton kicked off their Thanksgiving trip to Hew Hampshire by dropping a 2-1 decision to New Jersey. Kevin Cole was held scoreless in the game.

The Jr. Sens will face Hartford on Saturday.

In the USHL, Locke Jillson assisted on Des Moines' only two goals in their 5-2 loss to Tri-City. Vince Mihalek was kept off the scoresheet in Cedar Rapid's 4-1 win over Waterloo. Keir Ross also went scoreless in Omaha's 3-1 loss to Green Bay.

The three teams are in action on Saturday as Cedar Rapids travels to Indiana, Des Moines hosts Sioux Falls, and Omaha is home against Tri-City.

Out west, Nanaimo beat Alberni Valley, 7-3. Michael Garman stopped 22 shots to pick up the win for the Clippers. Chris Moulson was held scoreless for the Bulldogs, and Braden Birch did not play as he continues to nurse an injury.

Alberni returns home to face Cowichan Valley on Saturday, while Nanaimo takes to the road to visit Surrey.

Cushing continued their California trip with two wins on Friday. The Penguins defeated the highly-regarded L.A. Selects, 4-2, in their early game, and then came back to beat the DYHA Firebirds, 7-1. Game stats are not yet available.

Cushing will meet the L.A. Selects, again, on Saturday.
