Halloween Eve Action

October wound down with very little action on Wednesday. In Ontario, St. Michael's scored six straight goals to open their game against Durham, then held on for a 6-5 victory. Erik Axell scored a goal for the Buzzers, while Nick D'Agostino picked up a helper on the game-winning score.

St. Michael's will host Dixie on Friday.

In Chicago, Cedar Rapids wrapped up their month by defeating the Steel, 4-2. Vince Mihalek was held scoreless for the RoughRiders.

Cedar Rapids will be home against Waterloo on Friday.

Out west, two BC rivals faced off in Coastal Conference action when Nanaimo traveled to Alberni. The Clippers downed their hosts, 6-2. Michael Garman stopped 27 shots and picked up the win for Nanaimo. Alberni Valley's Chris Moulson was held scoreless, and Nanaimo's Braden Birch was held out of the action.

Both teams take to the road on Friday with Alberni Valley visiting Cowichan Valley and Nanaimo heading to Victoria.

As a hockey fan I'm curious which junior league you found that didn't wrap up October on October 31?

There were a couple of leagues that had extended play past midnight in their respective time zones...nah, seriously, thanks for reminding me that context isn't always enough.
