Friday Recap

In USHL action, Cedar Rapids remained undefeated, beating Green Bay, 4-0. Brady Hjelle (Minnesota-Duluth) picked up the shutout for the RoughRiders. Vince Mihalek was held scoreless in his second game of the season.

Cedar Rapids plays next Friday against Indiana.

On Saturday, Des Moines hosts Lincoln and Omaha hosts Sioux City.

In the BCHL, Braden Birch picked up an assist as Nanaimo defeated Westside, 5-3. The Clippers climbed into a tie for first place in the Coastal Conference with the win, though they have played 4 fewer games than fellow divisional leader Surrey.

Michael Garman did not play for the Clippers.

Nanaimo is off until Thursday when they visit Alberni Valley. The Bulldogs, however, will be in action on Saturday when they face Trail.
