It is interesting that Kevin Cole's father, Dave Cole played for Cornell (~1984, he was teamed defensively with Mike Shafer when Shafer was a freshman). Connor Stokes dad, Wayne Stokes, also played for Cornell - I think on the 1970 team. Both fathers live in Ithaca and coached in the Ithaca Youth Hockey Association.

Both players have received some nice reviews this past year. Kevin's reportedly a great student. Haven't heard about Connor's academic background, though I suspect it's also strong. Have to love those ties.

Wayne Stokes graduated CU in '76. He was a rough-and-tumble defenseman and a crowd favorite.

My brother was in high school when I was at Cornell and he came to a couple of hockey games at Lynah with me. 30 years later, he'll still blurt out, "Hit somebody, Stokes!" when he sees a hockey game on TV.

Karl,

That's quite an impression Wayne had on your brother. From what I've read Connor's game is bit different. I drove up to Rochester to watch Connor and Kevin Cole play last year but, unfortunately, their game was cancelled that day. Still hoping to see them play this year.
