A couple of weeks ago I started looking ahead at some of the players that may be of interest to Cornell. Here's some news on two of the names on that early list:
Cody Goloubef (6', 175), Oakville, ON
OPJHL, Milton -- Defense
Cody was a member of the U17 Ontario team that participated in the Under 17 World Challenge. Cody is reportedly looking at Cornell, Boston University, Maine, New Hampshire, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Miami (OH).
Cody took an unofficial visit to Wisconsin last weekend. Wisconsin already has a commitment from 2007 blueliner, Brendan Smith, who's considered the top-ranked prospect in Ontario. Michigan is also being rumored to have begun paying increased attention to Cody.
Nick Jaskowiak (5' 11", 180), St Louis Park, MN
Salisbury Prep -- Defense
It wasn't clear if the Minnesota transplant was being recruited by Cornell. What was clear was that Nick was being courted by Harvard, Boston University, Boston College, New Hampshire, Maine, Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Colorado College.
Nick has committed to Harvard. With Chad Morin and Ian Tallett scheduled to join the Crimson next year, Harvard is putting together an impressive group of young defensivemen. Still, it's Harvard...Let's Go Red...
